This dataset contains information on customer and retail characteristics and transactions from a specific non-grocery retailer chain which has a presence on a number of the main shopping streets in the UK as well as in some other settings (railway stations/airports/retail parks). The data is split into different tables each focusing on a different aspect.

IMPORTANT: If you are interested in data about multiple/general retailers on the UK's high streets, or need data covering dates more recently than 2017, this dataset will likely not be useful for you. It covers one retailer only, which is not a grocery retailer or a supermarket. Have a look at our Retail Type, Vacancy and Address Data instead. To avoid unnecessary applications, please read the below carefully first.


The Customer Data table contains the following information, on a per-retail loyalty card identifier basis: account number, gender, year of birth, postcode. Time interval available: April 2012 to April 2017.

The Store Location Data table contains the following information, on a per-store basis: store number, store name, format, type, open, close, postcode, x,y, long, lat.

The Store Space Data table contains information regarding the products arrangement in the stores between 2012-2017, on a per-store basis: floor, product, sales turnover, space format information, number of weeks in store.

The Transactions With Retail Loyalty Card table contains information regarding transactions made with loyalty cards on a per-product basis: account number, store number, value (£), product category, timestamp. The time interval the data is available for is for 2012 to 2017, however the timestamp is not available from 2014 onwards and the category information is less detailed too.

The Transactions Without Retail Loyalty Card table contains information regarding transactions made without loyalty cards on a per-product basis: store number, value (£), product category, timestamp. The time interval the data is available for is for 2012 to 2017, however the timestamp is not available from 2014 onwards and the category information is less detailed too.
